Ya se dio a conocer la lista de los nominados para las distintas categorías que la 84 edición de los Oscar premia a todas las personas que con su trabajo, esfuerzo y sacrificio realizan una producción cinematográfica.

Y este año son 9 las candidatas a llevarse el premio de mejor película. Según los expertos The Artist, The Descendants y The Help figuran entre las favoritas.

Para mejor director se mencionan los nombres de Scorsese, Steven Spielberg ("War Horse") o Michel Hazanavicius ("The Artist"), si bien en esta categoría podrían entrar Terrence Malick ("The Tree of Life") o Woody Allen ("Midnight in Paris").

Para el trofeo a mejor actor, entre los que se disputan esta categoría están Jean Dujardin (The Artist), George Clooney (The Descendants) y Brad Pitt ("Moneyball") y , en tanto que para mejor actriz compiten Meryl Streep ("The Iron Lady"), Glenn Close ("Albert Nobbs") y Viola Davis ("The Help").

Según los críticos la estatuilla para mejor guión original podría ganársela Woody Allen ("Midnight in Paris") o Hazanivicus ("The Artist") .

La ceremonia de la 84 edición de los Óscar se celebrará el 26 de febrero en el teatro Kodak, de Los Ángeles, y se emitirá en directo en más de 225 países.
